Mill Road

We’d love to hear about your travel habits and how you're finding our Safer Streets for Schools project on Mill Road now that the changes are complete. Your feedback will help us better understand how people experience the street and explore ways we can work together to make it safer for everyone.

In the Spring and Summer of 2026, these changes were made:

  • 20mph speed limit
  • Red route restrictions:
    1. Double red lines: No stopping or dropping off at any time.
    2. Single red line: No stopping or dropping off between 8:30–9:30am and 2:45–3:45pm.
  • Widened footway protected with pencil bollards
  • Increased presence of Enforcement Officers

What we've also offered the schools:

  • Cycle training for children

Why your views matter

It is important to receive your feedback as it informs Essex County Council on the lived experiences of those within the area and help us understand the impact that interventions had.
