Harlow: Town centre to The Pinnacles - Impact Survey

Your feedback will help us understand how the route is being used and how it’s making a difference to everyday journeys.
This east–west corridor runs from Elizabeth Way in the west to Netteswell Orchard, just north of Harlow Town Centre. It’s designed to make walking and cycling safer, easier, and more enjoyable for everyone. The scheme was completed on 1st October 2024 with funding from Active Travel England.
What’s included in the changes?
- A fully kerb-separated cycleway and footway for most of the route
- Reconstructed pavements to improve surface quality
- New kerbing throughout the route
- Better signage and road markings for cyclists
- Upgraded street furniture, including cycle bollards
- Vegetation cleared to open up the route
- Tactile paving improved to meet accessibility standards
- New street lighting for better visibility and safety
- New and upgraded crossings:
- Hodings Road (West) Junction – A raised crossing now gives priority to people walking and cycling
- Hodings Road (East) Junction – Upgraded to a parallel crossing for smoother, safer journeys
