The Essex Cycle Grant is run by Essex County Council and Active Essex and is open to organisations who want to encourage more people to cycle. The grant can be used to start up new activities or increase the numbers attending existing activities. We can fund anything from instructors, premises, equipment, marketing and promotion.
Funding criteria: we want to fund long term sustainable projects that require none or very little funding after a period of 1-5 years (dependent on the scale of the project) which will enable them to be self-sufficient in the long-term.
Funding priorities: we will prioritise applications that target projects which are engaging older people, people living with a disability or a long-term health condition, ethnically-diverse communities, people living wiht poor mental health, low socio-economic groups, women and/or rural communities.
If you have any questions before you apply, please contact the Sustainable Travel Planning team: travelplanteam@essex.gov.uk
