Beaulieu Park Station is a brand-new rail station in Boreham, north east of Chelmsford which opened on the 26th October 2025. It is the first new rail station to open on the Great Eastern mainline in over 100 years.
Construction of the £175m project began in March 2023 and finished ahead of schedule. The station is one stop away from Chelmsford City Centre station and provides a flexible service with three platforms, more than 700 car parking spaces, a public transport interchange, more than 500 cycle spaces and new track for passing trains.
Trains to London Liverpool Street run frequently (four trains an hour during peak times) with a journey time of just 40 minutes.
In order to assess how the newly-opened station was being used, an online passenger survey ran between the 23rd and 30th November. In addition, Essex County Council officers visited the station on Wednesday 26th November to publicise the surveys, distribute leaflets, be on hand for any questions or comments and and encourage passengers to complete the survey while they waited for their train.
